Daily Mail Foursomes

A big congratulations to Sandra and Aileen for winning the next round of the Daily Mail Foursomes.

The delayed match, due to the wet conditions was played on Saturday the 27th April at home with the ladies winning on the 18th hole.

The next round will be decided later this week.

Bell Cup

On Thursday 25/4/24 the ladies played against Brookdale Golf Club in the Bell Cup.

Unfortunately the ladies and the course proved too much with Brookdale winning 6 matches to 1.

Well done to everyone who played, it was a interesting but tough course.

Daily Mail Foursomes

This is the first post of 2024 and it is good news.

On Thursday 7/3/24 our knockout winners Sandra and Aileen were drawn to play Wilmslow at home in the Daily Mail Foursomes.

Luckily the course had been drying out over the last week and our ladies beat Wilmslow 4 and 3. A great win. They now wait to see who they will be playing against in the next round.

WELL DONE AEGC LADIES!

Huge congratulations to AEGC Ladies B team, defeated in yesterday's final by the narrowest of margins. Tytherington Club took the title after the severn games in the match. It could not have been closer. Three of the 7 games went to the 19th hole and one of those made it to the 20th before defeat. Very well played everyone.

This season has been a fantastic success for our small but keen section. Two teams reaching the semi finals is quite remarkable. This meant 14 ladies , 16 with reserves, were required for the matches. As a rule we have 20-25 ladies playing each Tuesday, so a massive commitment to get such a proportion playing on the teams- and winning.

The ladies in the section have all been incredibly supportive of the teams. Thank you for all the trolley pullers. Alsager Golf and Country Club has some big,big hills!!!

Bring on next season and let's get more ladies out there and prove that small clubs can be competative, and successful! Not to mention the fun!

Fiona, LC.
